Procedure

  1. Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
  2. Connect cable (2) between the COMPUTER end of CA3 adapter (3) and a USB port of PC (1).
  3. Connect cable (4) between the DATA LINK end of CA3 adapter (3) and the service tool connector.
  4. Place the keyswitch in the ON position. If the Electronic Service Tool and the CA3 adapter do not communicate with the ECM, refer to Troubleshooting, Electronic Service Tool Does Not Communicate.
