Perkins 403F-11 — V-Belts - Remove and Install

Before you start

  • A used V-belt should be installed in the original direction of rotation.

Procedure

  1. Remove fan guards if equipped.
  2. Loosen bolt (1), bolt (2), and bolt (4).
  3. Push alternator toward the engine and remove V-belt.
  4. Check condition of V-belt; replace if worn or damaged.
  5. Install V-belt in position on the engine.
  6. Slide alternator away from engine to correct belt tension.
  7. Tighten bolts (1), (2) and (4) to 25 N·m.
  8. Install fan guards if equipped.

  • 25 N·m (221 lb in) alternator mounting bolts
