Perkins 403F-11 — Glow Plugs - Remove and Install

Before you start

  • Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Procedure

  1. Turn battery disconnect switch to OFF position.
  2. Remove nuts and washers from bus bar.
  3. Remove bus bar from glow plugs.
  4. Remove glow plugs from cylinder head.
  5. Ensure glow plug threads are clean and free from damage.
  6. Install glow plugs into cylinder head.
  7. Tighten glow plugs to 12 N·m.
  8. Position bus bar onto glow plugs.
  9. Install washers and nuts to glow plugs.
  10. Tighten nuts to 1.2 N·m.
  11. Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position.
