Perkins 1104 — Water Pump - Install

For the Perkins 1104, from the Perkins service manual.
Applies to: Perkins 1104, Perkins N H1 (Engine) engine
Procedure
- Ensure water pump clean and free from wear or damage; replace if necessary.
- If necessary, install cover to water pump: clean cover surface, position new joint, install cover, install bolts finger tight.
- Clean mating surface of front cover.
- Install guide studs in position.
- Use guide studs to align new joint to front cover; install joint.
- Align water pump with guide studs; install to front cover.
- Install bolts finger tight.
- Remove guide studs and install remaining bolts finger tight.
- Tighten bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft) in sequence.
- Install hose to water pump inlet; tighten hose clamps.
- Fill cooling system with coolant.
