Perkins 1104 — Glow Plugs - Remove and Install

Applies to: Perkins 1104, Perkins N H1 (Engine) engine

Procedure

1. Isolate electrical supply.
2. Remove nut and disconnect wire from bus bar.
3. Remove nuts that secure bus bar to glow plugs.
4. Remove bus bar from glow plugs.
5. Remove glow plugs from cylinder head.
6. Ensure threads of glow plugs clean and free from damage; replace if damaged.
7. Install glow plugs into cylinder head.
8. Tighten glow plugs to 15 N·m (132 lb in).
9. Position bus bar onto glow plugs; install nuts; tighten to 2 N·m (17 lb in).
10. Connect wire to stud on bus bar.
11. Install nut to stud on bus bar; tighten to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
12. Restore electrical supply.
