Perkins 1104 — Fuel Injection Lines - Install

For the Perkins 1104, from the Perkins service manual.

Applies to: Perkins 1104, Perkins N H1 (Engine) engine

Procedure

1. Remove caps from fuel injection pump, fuel manifold, and new fuel injection line.
2. Loosely connect nuts at both ends of fuel injection line to fuel manifold and fuel injection pump.
3. Ensure ends correctly seated.
4. Use injector pipe nut tool to tighten nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
5. Install bolt to clip; tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
6. Ensure line does not contact any other engine component.
7. Install electronic control module.
8. If necessary, install crankcase breather.
9. Install new seal to electronic unit injector and valve mechanism cover base.
10. Remove caps from new fuel injection line.
11. Remove caps from electronic unit injector and fuel manifold port.
12. Loosely connect nuts at both ends of fuel injection line.
13. Use tool to tighten nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
14. Repeat for remaining fuel injection lines.
15. Restore fuel supply, restore electrical supply, remove air from fuel system.
