Before you start
- Do not use pry bars to remove injectors from the cylinder head.
- Escaping diesel fuel under pressure can penetrate the skin.
Procedure
- Clean loose dirt from around the injectors and fuel lines.
- Relieve high pressure by loosening the delivery line flare nuts at each injector.
- Remove delivery lines by disconnecting from injectors and injection pump. Remove all lines as an assembly; do not remove the spacers.
- Cover the ends of the lines, injector inlets and injection pump outlets to keep dirt out.
- Remove the return line retaining bolts and the return line.
- Unscrew and remove the injectors.
- Discard the copper sealing washers from the injector holes and cover holes to prevent debris entering cylinders.
