Before you start

  • Use protective clothing and open filler cap carefully when engine is warm.

Procedure

  1. Check water level in expansion tank; about 1 in. below filler cap sealing surface when cold.
  2. Check crankcase oil with dipstick; level must be between high and low marks.
  3. Check fuel tank level and open fuel valves at tank and secondary filter.
  4. Close sea-cock, check and clean sea strainer, then reopen sea-cock.
  5. Place battery switch in ON position.
