Before you start
- Battery gas can explode; keep all flames and sparks away from batteries.
- Battery electrolyte is sulfuric acid and can burn or stain body or clothes.
Procedure
- Check battery electrolyte level and add distilled water if necessary.
- Confirm booster and main batteries have the same voltage rating.
- Connect positive (+) terminal of booster battery to positive (+) of main battery.
- Connect negative (-) terminal of booster battery to ground on the engine block.
- Remove booster battery after starting the engine.
