Before you start
- Use protective clothing and open filler cap carefully when engine is warm.
Procedure
- Check expansion tank water level about 1 in. (2.5 cm) below filler cap sealing surface when cold.
- Check crankcase oil level with dipstick; keep level in waffled area between maximum and minimum.
- Check fuel tank level and open any fuel valves.
- Close sea-cock, check and clean sea strainer, then reopen sea-cock.
- Place battery switch in ON position; keep it ON while engine runs.

- Coolant level: about 1 in. (2.5 cm) below filler cap sealing surface when cold.
