Before you start
- Heavy object. Use appropriate lifting devices.
- Components have sharp edges. Wear protective gloves.
Procedure
- Wipe crankshaft bearing surfaces with chamois leather.
- Attach guide pins at first and last bearing.
- Attach crankshaft with rope slings to crane and lift.
- Slowly lower crankshaft onto crankcase bearings.
- Install upper thrust washer halves.
- Install main bearing caps in accordance with markings.
- Tighten screws to specified torque and rotation angle.
- Measure crankshaft axial play.
