MTU 12V 1600 R50 — Fuel prefilter - Filter element replacement

Before you start

  • Fuels are combustible; risk of fire and explosion

Procedure

  1. Provide container to collect the fuel; close fuel supply.
  2. Unscrew filter cover and remove with filter element from housing.
  3. Remove filter element from filter cover.
  4. Install new O-ring on filter cover and coat with fuel.
  5. Insert new filter element in filter cover.
  6. Screw filter cover with element into filter housing.
  7. Tighten filter cover to 40 Nm using torque wrench.
  8. Open fuel supply.
