MTU 12V 1600 R50 — Engine oil filter - Replacement

Before you start

  • Hot oil; risk of injury and poisoning

Procedure

  1. Unscrew oil filter covers approx. 3 to 4 revolutions.
  2. Wait 10 minutes until oil has drained from filter housings.
  3. Take off threaded cover with oil filter element.
  4. Pull oil filter element to detach from threaded cover.
  5. Check sealing ring on cover; replace if damaged, coat with oil.
  6. Insert new oil filter element in cover, press until it locks.
  7. Tighten cover 32 A/F to 35 Nm +/-3.5 Nm.
  8. Replace other oil filters similarly and check oil level.

  • Socket 32 mm F30006120 Amazon
