Before you start

  • DO NOT loosen overflow valves or fuel will drain back from the fuel pump(s) to the tank of the unit.

Procedure

  1. Loosen bleeder screw (item 1, right bank) of fuel filter.
  2. Operate the priming plunger (item 2, left bank) of priming pump until the plunger becomes hard to operate and the bleeding fuel from the bleeder screw (item 1, right bank) is free of air and bubbles.
  3. Tighten bleeder screw (item 1, right bank) of fuel filter.
  4. Loosen the bleeder screw of the injection pump inlet joint (item 3, left bank).
  5. Operate the priming plunger (item 2, left bank) of priming pump until the plunger becomes hard to operate and the bleeding fuel from the bleeder screw (item 3, left bank) is free of air and bubbles.
  6. Tighten bleeder screw (item 3, left bank)
  7. Tighten priming pump plunger (item 2, left bank)
  8. Loosen bleeder screw (item 4, right bank) of fuel filter.
  9. Operate the priming plunger (item 5, right bank) of priming pump until the plunger becomes hard to operate and the bleeding fuel from the bleeder screw (item 4, right bank) is free of air and bubbles.
  10. Tighten bleeder screw (item 4, right bank) of fuel filter.
  11. Loosen the bleeder screw of the injection pump inlet joint (item 6, right bank).
  12. Operate the priming plunger (item 5, right bank) of priming pump until the plunger becomes hard to operate and the bleeding fuel from the bleeder screw (item 6, left bank) is free of air and bubbles.
  13. Tighten bleeder screw (item 6, right bank).
  14. Tighten priming pump plunger (item 5, right bank).
  15. Ensure all bleed screws are secure and start the engine.
  16. If rated load cannot be attained retry procedure from step 1.
  17. DO NOT loosen overflow valves (item 7, left bank or item 8, right bank) or fuel will drain back from the fuel pump(s) to the tank of the unit.
