Before you start
- Before starting the engine, return (pull out) the turning gear to the original position; starting the engine with the turning gear pushed in damages the ring gear and may cause personal injury.
- Make sure the plate is securely inserted in the shaft groove.
Procedure
- Loosen the two bolts and remove the plate from the shaft groove.
- Push in the shaft fully to engage it with the ring gear.
- Turn the shaft using a socket wrench and a ratchet handle.
- After turning, pull out the shaft, insert the plate in the shaft groove, and tighten the bolts.
