Before you start
- Hot oil and components can cause personal injury
Procedure
- Remove the crankcase filler cap and fill with recommended oil.
- Remove the rocker cover and lubricate the valve mechanism and fill the camshaft oil bath.
- Check the oil level with a dipstick; keep between MAXIMUM and MINIMUM marks.
- Check the oil pan and related parts for oil leaks.
- Crank the engine with fuel supply shut off to confirm oil pressure rises.
- Start the engine, run about 10 minutes, stop and add oil.
