Mitsubishi — Refilling engine oil

Applies to: Mitsubishi S16R-Y1PTA-2 engine

Procedure

  1. Reinstall the drain plug and remove the oil filler cap.
  2. Fill the engine oil pan with specified engine oil to the specified level.
  3. Check that the oil level is between the MAXIMUM and MINIMUM marks on the oil level gauge.
  4. Add oil of the specified type if low, and check the oil pan and other parts for oil leakage.
  5. Shut off the fuel supply and crank the engine for about 10 seconds, then wait about 1 minute.
  6. Crank the engine again to circulate oil, then recheck the oil level and add oil as needed.
