Procedure

  1. 1. Immerse the lash adjuster in clean diesel fuel.
  2. 2. While lightly pushing down the inner steel ball
  3. using the special tool, Air Bleed Wire, move the
  4. plunger up and down four or five times to bleed air.
  5. Use of the retainer (special tool) helps facilitate the
  6. rocker arm mounted type lash adjuster.
  7. 3. Remove the wire and press the plunger. If the
  8. plunger is hard to be pushed in, the lash adjuster is
  9. normal. If the plunger can be pushed in all the way
  10. readily, bleed the lash adjuster again and test
  11. again. If the plunger is still loose, replace the lash
  12. adjuster.
  13. NOTE: Upon completion of air bleeding, hold the
  14. lash adjuster upright to prevent inside diesel fuel
  15. from spilling.
