Before you start

  • Note: After installation, keep the sealed area
  • Note: Keep the O-ring free of oil or grease.

Procedure

  1. 7. By-pass fitting 14. Water pump gasket
  2. >>A<< 8. Water inlet pipe 15. Water inlet fitting
  3. 1. Attach a new O-ring to each end of the water
  4. inlet pipe.
  5. 2. Wet the O-ring with water.
  6. Note: Keep the O-ring free of oil or grease.
  7. >>B<< WATER OUTLET FITTING
  8. 1. Apply a 3 mm diameter bead of FIPG to the
  9. indicated surface of the water outlet fitting
  10. Specified sealant: Permatex Ultra Grey Gasket
  11. Maker pt# 82194 or equivalent
  12. 2. Install the housing quickly, (within 15 minutes)
  13. while the sealant is wet, and tighten the bolts to
  14. the specified torque.
  15. Note: After installation, keep the sealed area
  16. away from the coolant for approximately one hour.
  17. >>C<< THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION
  18. 1. Check that the rubber ring is undamaged and
  19. seated correctly in the thermostat flange.
  20. 2. Install the thermostat as shown in the illustration.
  21. The jiggle valve must be at the uppermost
  22. position.
  23. 1. Breather hose
