Procedure

1. 4. Unclamp the auto-tensioner from the vise.

3. 5. Install the auto-tensioner onto the front case
4. and tighten to the specified torque.
5. Note: Leave the wire installed in the auto-
6. tensioner. Tightening torque: 24± 3 N·m
7. >>H<< TIMING BELT INSTALLATION
8. 1. Align the timing mark on the camshaft sprocket
9. with the timing mark on the rocker cover.
10. 2. Align the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket
11. with the timing mark on the front case.
12. 3. Align the timing mark on oil pump sprocket with
13. its mating mark.
14. 4. Remove the plug on the cylinder block and
15. insert a Phillips head screwdriver (shank diameter
16. 8 mm) through the hole.
17. If it can be inserted as deep as 60 mm or more,
18. the timing marks are correctly aligned.
19. If the inserted depth is only 20 to 25 mm, turn the
20. oil pump sprocket one turn and realign the timing
21. marks. Then check to ensure that the screwdriver
22. can be inserted 60 mm or more. Keep the
23. screwdriver inserted until the timing belt is
24. completely installed.
25. 5. Install the timing belt on the crankshaft sprocket,
