Procedure

  1. 6. Idler pulley <<F>> >>C<< 16. Counterbalance shaft sprocket
  2. 7. Tensioner pulley bracket >>B<< 17. Spacer
  3. 8. Timing belt rear cover <<G>> 18. Crankshaft sprocket "B"
  4. 9. Timing belt indicator <<H>> >>A<< 19. Camshaft sprocket bolt
  5. <<B>> >>F<< 10. Oil pump sprocket 20. Camshaft sprocket
  6. 1. Mark the belt running direction for reinstallation.
  7. NOTE:
  8. (1) Water or oil on the belt shortens its life
  9. drastically, so the removed timing belt, sprocket,
  10. and tensioner must be washed or immersed in
  11. solvent. Replace parts if contaminated.
  12. (2) If there is oil or water on any part, check the
  13. front case oil seals, camshaft oil seal, and water
  14. pump for leaks.
