Before you start

  • Cooling water (containing LLC) is harmful. Do not dispose of drained cooling water into regular sewage.

Procedure

  1. Operate engine until cooling water temperature reaches 70-85°C [158-185°F].
  2. Allow engine to cool to room temperature; lift lever on radiator filler cap to release pressure, then remove cap.
  3. Open drain plug on engine and drain plug on radiator to drain cooling water.
  4. Flush cooling system with cleaning solution, then clean water, repeating until drained water is clear.
  5. Close drain plugs tightly; pour antifreeze (LLC) and add clean water until radiator is full; tighten cap.
  6. Crank engine for less than 10 seconds using starter; wait about one minute; repeat to bleed air.
  7. Operate engine until water temperature reaches 70-85°C; stop engine.
  8. Allow engine to cool; check cooling water level and add cooling water of same LLC concentration if low.
