Before you start
- Remove all metal jewelry when working on generator set.
- Never attempt to start generator set unless properly grounded.
Procedure
- Remove three ground rods from storage inside left front housing door.
- Remove ground cable, clamp, driving stud, and three couplers.
- Open output load terminal board TB2 door and remove terminal nut wrench.
- Route ground cable through OUTPUT CABLES boot into housing.
- Insert ground cable through slot on ground terminal on skid frame and tighten.
- Connect coupler to ground rod and screw driving stud into coupler.
- Drive ground rod until coupler is just above surface; add sections.
- Drive rod 8 feet or deeper; secure cable with clamp.
