Before you start
- All starting, running and stopping must be done by qualified personnel
- De-energize alternator before inspection
- Do not use liquids or water for cleaning
Procedure
- Ensure alternator is de-energized and at room temperature before inspection
- During first startup at reduced speed check for anomalous noises
- Stop system immediately if anomalies are detected
- Improve mechanical coupling if noises persist
