Marathon — Removal from Prime Mover

Before you start
- Be sure all power is off before servicing.
- Do not apply any force to the generator fan for lifting or rotating the rotor.
Procedure
- Remove conduit box covers.
- Disconnect all external wiring from generator leads inside conduit box.
- Remove all conduit or ducting from the conduit box.
- Attach a suitable hoist to the generator lifting lugs.
- Single bearing: remove screen assembly, drive disc capscrews, and SAE adapter capscrews.
- Two-bearing: disconnect the coupling or sheave and belts between generator and prime mover.
- Remove mounting bolts securing generator to base; note and save shims.
- Raise generator slightly and move away from prime mover, taking pressure off drive discs.
