Marathon — Exciter Armature (Rotor) Removal

Before you start
- Do not tighten the puller bolt beyond the end of the threads.
Procedure
- Note markings and disconnect the main rotor leads from the rectifier aluminum angle.
- Remove the capscrew and belleville washer holding the exciter armature to the generator shaft.
- Use a six inch, 7/8-14NF capscrew for a puller; screw into threaded hole against shaft end.
- Carefully feed the main rotor leads through the hole as the exciter armature is removed.
