MAN — Starting

Before you start
- When starting do not use any additional starting aids (e.g. injection with starting pilot).
Procedure
- Before starting make sure that no-one is in the engine's danger area
- Switch on EDC
- Trigger flame start system
- Starting procedure initiated after preglowing and interrupted after engine starts at approx. 300-400 rpm
- If the engine does not start, restrict starting time to 10-15 seconds
- Repeat start attempt 3-4 times with a 15-20 second pause in between
- Fault indication upon unsuccessful start
