Before you start
- MAKE SURE the fan is facing the right way
Procedure
- See section 6.1 before reassembly
- Insert inner bearing retainer (33) at drive end and retainer (53) at non drive end
- Fit the new bearings on the shaft
- Insert rotor (3) into stator (1) taking every precaution not to knock the winding
- Screw rods into the retainer tapped holes to maintain grease nipple position
- Position preloading washer (59) with grease and remount NDE shield (6)
- Fit DE shield (5) positioning the bearing retainer (33) correctly
- Place tie rods (14) and tighten nuts diagonally to the recommended torque
- Fix bearing retainers (33/53) with their screws (40)/(62)
- Mount shield seals with grease: (54) NDE, (39) DE
- Install the fan key or pin and mount fan (7) facing the right way
- Check free rotation, replace cover (13) with screws (27), replace grease nipple (64)
- Fill with new grease per the quantity table, turning the shaft by hand; replace key (21)
