Before you start
- MAKE SURE the fan is facing the right way
Procedure
- See section 6.1 before reassembly
- Insert inner bearing retainers (33/53) then mount new bearings on the shaft
- Mount circlip (38) for flange mounted motors and circlip (60) for roller bearings
- Insert rotor (3) into stator (1) taking every precaution not to knock the winding
- Screw a rod into the retainer tapped hole to maintain angular position while refitting the shields
- Position preloading washer (59) with grease at the back of the NDE bearing cage and remount NDE shield (6)
- Refit DE shield (5) allowing for positioning of the bearing retainer
- Place tie rods (14) and tighten nuts diagonally to the recommended torque
- Fix bearing retainers (33/53) with their own screws
- Mount shield seals with grease: (54) NDE, (39) DE
- Install the fan pin and mount the fan (7) facing the right way
- Check rotor turns freely by hand, replace cover (13) with screws (27) and replace key (21)

Specs & values
- Tighten tie rods diagonally to recommended torque (section 6.1)
