Before you start

  • Perform voltage checks in the order given to avoid damaging the transfer switch.
  • Only authorized personnel should open the enclosure.

Procedure

  1. Verify that the generator set master switch is in the OFF position and both power sources are disconnected.
  2. Disconnect the power switching device and controller wiring harnesses at the inline disconnect plug.
  3. Manually operate the transfer switch to position E.
  4. If Source N is a generator set, move the master switch to RUN; the generator set should start.
  5. Close the Source N circuit breaker and check phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral voltages and frequency.
  6. Use a phase rotation meter to check phase rotation at the Source N terminals.
  7. If the source is a generator set, stop it by moving the master switch to OFF, then disconnect Source N.
  8. Manually operate the transfer switch to position N and repeat steps 4 through 8 for Source E.
  9. Disconnect both sources, reconnect the harnesses at the inline disconnect plug, and close the door.
  10. Reconnect both power sources and move the generator set master switch to the AUTO position.
