Procedure

  1. Verify basic engine, all sensors, fuel, fuel pressure and battery are within specifications.
  2. Remove/disconnect all external loads (belts, pumps, electric PTO clutch, alternator, rectifier-regulator).
  3. Start engine and warm up 5-10 minutes so oil temperature is above 55°C (130°F).
  4. Move throttle to idle, stabilize at least one minute, and adjust idle speed to 1500 RPM using a tachometer.
  5. Shut off engine; connect a jumper from the TPS initialization pin (violet wire) to the battery voltage pin (red wire) or use jumper connector plug SPX Part No. KO3217-9.
  6. Turn ignition switch on (do not start); MIL should blink quickly about 3 seconds then go off and stay off.
  7. Turn off key switch, remove the jumper, and remove the rubber band from the throttle lever.
  8. Disconnect the ECU connector plug or negative battery cable for one minute minimum to clear learned adjustments.
