Procedure
- Put drops of dish washing soap on shaft to prevent sealing lip tearing.
- Using two screwdrivers, pry mechanical seal side to side until free; may need to remove pump case first.
- Pull seal off crankshaft and inspect for cracks, burn marks, and overall condition; replace if necessary.
