Before you start
- If brush retainer wire is not removed, voltage regulator will be damaged when generator is started.
Procedure
- Clean stub shaft taper and apply anti-seize compound.
- Lift rotor onto taper and replace thru bolt. Torque to 50 ft. lbs.
- Slide stator into position aligning mounting holes.
- Replace tolerance ring in end bracket with new one.
- Position end bracket on stator; replace overbolts. Torque to 260 in. lbs.
- Cradle stator and hoist; remove wood blocks; return to normal position.
- Replace base tray; feed leads through grommets.
- Remove retainer wire from brush holder; replace end panel.
