Before you start
- Disconnect and remove starting batteries. Shut off fuel supply.
Procedure
- Remove end panel and enclosure side panels.
- Disconnect stator lead connections and remove base tray.
- Disconnect stator from steel mounting frame.
- Cradle stator with lifting straps and raise with hoist.
- Place wood blocks under flywheel housing.
- Remove speed sensor (NFPA models).
- Lift brushes and lock in holder with wire or paper clip.
- Remove four overbolts and bump end bracket with rubber mallet.
