Before you start
- Do not soak armature or use solvent when cleaning.
Procedure
- Perform steps 1-5 in Starter Disassembly.
- Remove two screws securing brush holder assembly to end cap.
- Note orientation; discard old brush holder.
- Clean component parts as required.
- Install new brush and spring kit Kohler 25 221 01-S with protective tube.
- Perform steps 10-13 in Starter Reassembly.
