Before you start
- Hazardous voltage. Only authorized personnel should open the enclosure.
- Accidental starting. Disconnect the battery cables before working on the generator set. Remove the negative (--) lead first.
Procedure
- Move the service disconnect control switch on the door to the SERVICE DISCONNECT position.
- The engine start contacts close, signaling the generator set to start.
- When the emergency source is available, the ATS transfers to the emergency source.
- Check that the utility breaker is open and the Utility Disconnected light is illuminated.
- Disconnect emergency power from the load by opening the generator set circuit breaker and disabling the generator set.
- Turn the generator set off by moving the master switch to OFF/RESET or pressing OFF on the controller.
- Disconnect power to the battery charger.
- Remove the battery cables, negative (--) lead first.
- Use a voltmeter to verify that power is disconnected before servicing connected equipment.
- Attach a safety lockout padlock to the service disconnect control switch and verify the door is locked closed.
