Before you start
- Electrical shock! The Automatic Transfer Switch is energized; proceed with care! This test should be done only by a qualified electrician.
Procedure
- Close normal source circuit breaker.
- Use an accurate voltmeter to check phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral voltages at the normal source terminals.
- Close emergency source circuit breaker.
- Manually start the engine-generator at the set.
- Check phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral voltages at the emergency source terminals.
- If necessary, adjust the voltage regulator on the generator set.
- Shut down the generator set, then put starting control in 'automatic' position.
- Operate and hold door-mounted Test Switch until engine starts and runs, within 15 seconds.
- Transfer Switch operates to the emergency position (after Acc. 01-A time delay, up to 1 minute).
- Transfer Switch operates back to normal after Acc. 03-C time delay (up to 30 minutes).
- Acc. 04-C allows the engine to continue to run for an additional unloaded running time.
