Before you start
- Pump cover and volute are heavy; be prepared to handle weight.
- Volute is not secured to pump cover; take care when handling.
- Volute position is important. Observe tab on volute matches notch in pump cover for reassembly.
Procedure
- Drain any water from reservoir by loosening drain plug.
- Loosen screws that hold pump cover to pump case.
- Carefully remove volute from housing by pulling up.
- Check volute O-ring for nicks, cracks, and tearing. Replace if necessary.
- Inspect volute and pump cover for cracks or bent castings.
