Before you start
- Do not operate preheater on an unprimed engine; excessive heat will permanently distort the bi-metallic element and destroy the preheater.
Procedure
- Use preheater if temperature is below 40°F (3°-4°C) and engine turns over rapidly, exhausts white smoke but does not start.
- Depress preheat switch for 15-20 seconds, then release.
- Initiate starting procedure.
