Before you start
- Spring under tension; wear safety goggles.
Procedure
- Release recoil spring tension.
- Unscrew center screw and lift off drive plate.
- Note positions of pawls and pawl springs before removing.
- Inspect components for wear, cracks, or damage; replace as needed.
- Install pawl springs (CS8.5-12 only) and pawls onto pawl studs; parts dry.
- Position drive plate over pawls, aligning actuating slots.
- Torque center screw to 5-6 N·m (44-53 in. lb.).
- Rotate pulley by hand and check operation.
