Procedure

  1. Change oil while engine is warm.
  2. Clean area around oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Remove drain plug and oil fill cap/dipstick.
  4. Allow oil to drain completely.
  5. Clean area around oil filter.
  6. Place a container under filter to catch any oil.
  7. Remove filter.
  8. Wipe off mounting surface.
  9. Reinstall drain plug and torque to 10 ft. lb. (13.6 N·m).
  10. Place new filter in shallow pan with open end up.

  • Torque wrench

Specs & torque values

  • Drain plug torque: 10 ft. lb. (13.6 N·m)
