Kohler — Lapping Valves

Procedure

  1. Lightly coat valve face with a fine grade of grinding compound.
  2. Rotate valve on seat with a hand valve grinder until a smooth surface is obtained.
  3. Thoroughly clean cylinder head in hot, soapy water to remove all traces of grinding compound.
  4. After drying, apply a light coating of SAE 10 oil to prevent rusting.
