Procedure
- Establish firing position of #1 cylinder: rotate engine by hand until SPK timing mark lines up and compression is felt in #1 cylinder.
- With distributor removed from engine, remove distributor cap, rotor and cover.
- Reinstall rotor and rotate drive gear until ignition points just begin to open when rotor is positioned to fire #1 spark plug.
- Install distributor on engine.
- Reassemble cover, rotor and cap in proper position; connect spark plug leads as indicated.
- Use a timing light for precision timing of the ignition.
