Before you start

  • Disconnect load before adjusting governor speed
  • Check droop and governor response at various loads

Procedure

  1. 3. Move throttle lever to wide-open/full throttle position
  2. 1. Place throttle control into idle or slow position.
  3. 2. Low idle fuel needle(s) setting: place throttle into
  4. 3. Recheck/adjust Low Idle Speed (RPM) to
  5. 1. With engine running, move throttle control to fast.
  6. 2. Turn inner adjustment screw outward to decrease, or
  7. 1. Perform removal procedures for appropriate air
  8. 2. Clean exterior surfaces of dirt or foreign material
  9. 3. Remove fl oat pin (some carburetors may have a
  10. 4. Clean carburetor bowl and inlet seat areas

Tools required

  • pliers

Specs & torque values

  • 1500-1800 RPM recommended idle
  • 300 RPM higher governed idle
  • 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 rated loads
