Kohler SH255, SH265, SH270 — Engine Oil and Filter Change

For the Kohler SH255, SH265, SH270.

Procedure

  1. Change oil while engine is warm.
  2. 1. Clean area around oil fill cap/dipstick and drain plug.
  3. 2. Remove drain plug and oil fill cap/dipstick. Drain oil completely.
  4. 3. Reinstall drain plug. Torque to 13 ft. lb. (17.6 Nm).
  5. 4. Fill crankcase with new oil, up to point of overflowing filler neck.
  6. 5. Reinstall oil fill cap/dipstick and tighten securely.
  7. 6. Dispose of used oil in accordance with local ordinances.

Tools required

  • Torque wrench

Specs & torque values

  • Torque: 13 ft. lb. (17.6 Nm)
  • Oil capacity: 3.5 qt. (3.3 L)
