Procedure

  1. 1. Remove the camshaft and camshaft bore plug
  2. from the #1 crankcase side. Refer to Figure 9-33.
  3. 2. With a marking pen or paint, mark the tappets ac-
  4. carding to crankcase side and as either intake or
  5. exhaust. Remove tappets from both crankcase
  6. sides. Refer to Figure 9-34.
  7. 1. Remove the crankshaft with connecting rods,
  8. bearings, and front oil seal from the #1 crankcase
  9. side. Refer to Figure 9-34.
  10. 2. Remove the front oil seal from the flywheel end of
  11. crankshaft. Remove bearings and thrust washer
  12. from crankshaft.
