Procedure

  1. 2. Remove the wing nut, washer, element cover,
  2. element and precleaner. See figure 9-5.

  8. 3. Remove the hex flange nuts from the intake studs,
  9. and the air cleaner base and gasket from the
  10. studs. See Figure 9-6.
  11. 4. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the
  12. breather hose from the rocker arm cover. Remove
  13. the air cleaner base from the studs and discon-
  14. nect choke linkage from the carburetor choke le-
  15. ver. See Figure 9-7.

  17. 1. Turn fuel shut-off valve to OFF (horizontal) posi-
  18. tion.
  19. 2. Remove hex flange nuts from lower bracket and
  20. hex flange screws from upper bracket of fuel tank.
  21. See Figures 9-8 and 9-9.
  22. 3. Remove the fuel tank and disconnect fuel hose
  23. from shut-off valve.
