Procedure

  1. 2. The cylinder barrels are already identified as #1 or
  2. #2 by a mark stamped near the valve cover/
  3. breather gasket surface.
  4. 3. Identify other engine components, such as the
  5. valves, pistons, connecting rods and rod caps,
  6. and vaive tappets, prior to removal or
  7. disassembly.
  8. 1. Remove the spark plugs from cylinder heads.
  9. 2. Remove the hex. cap screws, plain washers, cyl-
  10. inder heads, and gaskets. Refer to Figure 9-22.
