Kohler — 3. Remove the low idle fuel adjusting needle and only if these parts are to be cleaned or replaced.

For these Kohler models: CH5, CH6.

Applies to: Kohler Ch5, Kohler Ch6

Before you start

  • Also take note of the throttle plate position in the
  • A WARNING: Flammable Solvents!

Procedure

  1. 2. Remove the bowl gasket, float shaft, float, and
  2. fuel inlet needle.
  3. 5.6
  4. 1. Pierce the weich plug with the tip of the tool.
  5. NOTE: To prevent damage to the carburetor, do
  6. not allow the tool to strike the carburetor
  7. body.
  8. 2. Pry out the welch plug with the tip of the tool.
  9. Fuel Inlet Seat Removal
  10. To remove the fuel inlet seat, pull it out of the carbure-
  11. tor body using a screw, drill bit, or similar tool.
  12. NOTE: Always install a new fuel inlet seat. Do not
  13. reinstall a seat that has been removed.
  14. Choke Shaft Removal
  15. 1. Because the edges of the choke plate on CH5 are
  16. beveled, mark the choke plate and carburetor
  17. body to ensure correct reassembly. See
  18. Figure 5-5.
  19. Also take note of the choke plate position in the
  20. bore, and the position of the choke lever.

Tools required

  • tor body using a screw, drill bit, or similar tool.
  • 1. Pierce the weich plug with the tip of the tool.
  • 2. Pry out the welch plug with the tip of the tool.
