Before you start

Procedure

  1. 6. Engines with ACR can be started with spark plugs
  2. that are worn or fouled. Engines without ACR
  3. probably could not be started with those same
  4. spark plugs.
  5. CAMSHAFT
  6. Inspection And Service
  7. inspect the gear teeth of the camshaft. If the teeth are
  8. badly wom, chipped, or some are missing, replace-
  9. ment of the camshaft will be necessary.
  10. 1. Lower hone into bore and after centering, adjust
  11. so that the stones are in contact with the cylinder
  12. wall. Use of a commercial cutting-cooling agent
  13. is recommended.
  14. 2. With the lower edge of each stone positioned
  15. even with the lowest edge of the bore, start drill
  16. and honing process. Move the hone up and down
  17. while resizing to prevent the formation of cutting
  18. ridges. Check the size frequently.
